It is the accumulation of years of ice and rock climbing, mountaineering, backpacking, mountain biking, backcountry skiing, paddling rivers, adventure travel and active lounging. It brings together my skills and talents developed over decades where I worked in the outdoor retail industry as a buyer, manager and owner. Having experienced great joy and challenges in wild places, I have come to appreciate safety, being warm and dry, and having copious amounts of fun while using quality gear that enhances all of those experiences. I have come to understand there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad gear. In jaylife13, I get to express my unique gifts and talents by creating a brand of products that are conscious of the footprint they leave behind and respect the qualities of form and function to enhance the outdoor experience.
